The LIMODOR fire protection coating represents a fire protection (L90) that is proven by official fire tests (Fire Prevention Agency for Upper Austria, research and test laboratory - TU Munich, national material testing authority “Staatl. Materialprüfungsamt NW“, etc.). In connection with the LIMODOR air non-return flap it prevents the spreading of fire and flue gases.

During the fire tests according to ÖNORM B 3800, DIN 4102 and DIN 18017 a rise in temperature of 30°C was measured at the covers on the appliances above the burning room.

Therefore, flush-mounted LIMODOR individual ventilators with fire protection coating can be integrated in fire-resistant conduct facing walls (F90) without additional efforts.

According to the regulations in the individual Austrian Bundesländer (see construction regulations „Landesbauverordnungen“) the additional use of the maintenance-free LIMODOR fire damper BK 80 alternatively LB/A-UP/BR/BK, LF/E-UP/BR/BK, LF/M-UP/BR/BK may be required.


The maintenance-free fire damper "BK 80" is used for installation in the air duct facing walls for ceiling-mounted ventilators, for installation of ventilators outside of the duct or for surface-mounted ventilators.



During normal operation the ceiling penetration seal is open. If a temperature of 72°C is reached on account of a fire, the solder melts and the blocking devices closes. The foaming agent that is integrated in the fire protection plate fills out the volume of the seal. The ceiling penetration seal meets the requirements of fire-resistance grade K90.

The ceiling penetration seal is fixed onto the ceiling only through mortar casting. The installation direction is signaled through an arrow (sticker). The transport safeguard has to be removed after installation.


WARNING – only helical seam tin pipes can by connected. Pipe union on top: direct connection to ventilation line. Pipe union at the bottom: for connection of T-piece, pipe bend, connective fitting etc.
